OsteoEsprit was established in 2016 to provide Osteopathic healthcare to Chichester and the surrounding areas. We offer different healthcare options to suit each individual, providing patient specific treatment for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Osteopathy is a physical medicine regulated by The General Osteopathic Council. Founded in 1874 in the United States, Osteopathy is now regarded as a leading healthcare choice.
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with both the structure and function of the body and treatment is tailored to reduce tensions and restrictions. Osteopaths believe that for the body to work effortlessly, the structure must work perfectly. Using a combination of mobilisation, stretching and massage, the Osteopath will aim to restore a state of balance to the body by improving joint mobility, decreasing muscle tensions and improving blood and nerve supplies.
Nutritional advice and exercise prescription may well be provided to continue improvement and reduce the reoccurrence of injury.
Suitable for many musculoskeletal conditions including headaches, pregnancy discomfort, back/neck pain, shoulder/elbow/wrist pain, hip/knee/ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, postural pain and many more.

You do not have to be an athlete to experience the benefits of sports massage. Desk based workers and inactive people can gain great relief from stress and muscle soreness/tightness.
Treatment will consist of deep tissue massage, myofascial release and stretching to help restore normal function.
Medical acupuncture is a system which can help the body in three areas:

During the first session a full case history will be taken including questions about current symptoms, general health, past medical history and family history. Following this, a full assessment will be undertaken. The patient will complete some movements (if possible) and then the Osteopath will continue by using hands on contact, to understand the presenting injury. Once a diagnosis has been concluded the treatment options will be discussed with the patient.
During follow up sessions questions will be asked about how the patient is feeling following treatment, and further assessments will be done to determine what progression has been made. Further treatment will be given if appropriate.
This is a very tricky question to answer as it is very much specific to each patient. It is dependent on severity of injury and other factors. Most patients will see change following the first session, with the majority of treatment plans lasting between 3-6 sessions.
Usually not. Occasionally, however, patients do report some local soreness following treatment, this tends to last for no longer than 48 hours.
Some patients will feel the needles inserted, but this is a minimal pain. Once the needles are in place, no pain will be felt. The needles used in acupuncture are very thin and strong, each needle is used only once so there is no risk of infection from treatment.
During my pregnancy I suffered with sciatica and SPD. As a PE teacher I am constantly on my feet bending and moving around. I was recommended to see a specialist and Jamie at OsteoEsprit talked me through and recommended treatment to help me manage the pain. After my baby was born I went back to Jamie and began my rehab. His invaluable knowledge has meant that I have recovered quickly and the treatment has been excellent. Jamie gets to know his patients needs before treatment making you feel at ease ensuring an effective treatment. My appointments have been invaluable and many of my friends have now been to the clinic as a result. Thank you to OsteoEsprit for getting my back on my feet!
As a sports coach and player my back condition was beginning to seriously affect both my work and general well-being. After seeing Jamie this all changed, a very professional and knowledgeable Osteopath. His treatment techniques, advice on stretching and strength and conditioning tips have left my back feeling the best it has in many years. I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone suffering from back pain.
I have had extensive surgery on my lower back and following this I have always suffered with a daily achey back. Since having treatment with Jamie the all-day ache has completely gone allowing me to continue my hobbies and work with a spring in my step!
I called upon Jamie to help me following a long period of unremitting knee and foot pain. His treatment was very carefully thought out, working out exactly was causing the issue. He ended up treating my neck (which was out of alignment causing me to walk differently)! This hugely helped and I am now back to running half marathons pain free! Thanks Jamie!
Jamie is a fantastically knowledgeable healthcare professional and has helped me recover after various sporting and daily injuries. I have every faith in his diagnostics and treatments. He is extremely compassionate and caring, furthermore, his post injury care has been hugely helpful in seeing continued improvement. I have, and will, continue to recommend him to anyone
Jamie has been my osteopath for the last year. He was suggested to me through a client of mine. I have always struggled with back pain and have been to see various physios/ sports therapists and osteopaths about it. On my first session with Jamie I could see that his knowledge on the body was of a high standard. He treated me for my lower back pain for a few sessions and the movement and reoccurring pain after a few weeks was noticeably better. A year and after monthly visits to see Jamie my back is the best it has ever been. During this time he has also treated me for upper back tightness and a knee problem.
Being a Personal trainer it is hugely important that I stay fit and mobile and Jamie has defiantly helped me achieve this. I also refer my clients to Jamie. In the year that I have known him he has treated five of my clients with various injuries and this has meant that they have been able to train with me pain free. They were all really pleased with the treatment that Jamie has provided which is great for me as I have an osteopath that I can use and trust to treat my clients.
I first met Jamie in September 2014. Whilst I am a regular gym user I was experiencing shoulder and back problems probably induced through extensive travel involved with work (long driving and flights). Jamie was thorough in his diagnosis and his treatment delivered rapid results. I have continued to see Jamie on a regular basis as much for ‘prevention’ as ‘cure’ and each and every consultation is of the highest professional standard both in assessment and treatment. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jamie.
